The next generation of Exchange Zones arrives November 1. Choose your compartments now.
Relai

For builders

Your app. Our doors.

Relai 3 is the program for teams building their own experiences on Exchange Zones. Start in a full simulation of the network, ship when it works, and request hardware only when you are ready for it.

How it works

Four steps, and only one of them involves hardware.

  1. 01

    Sign up for Relai Access

Onboard as a Relai 3 partner and request SDK access. It approves instantly, so nothing waits on a sales call.

  2. 02

    Build in the sandbox

Your app is provisioned with sandbox keys and its own simulated Exchange Zones. Simulated opens are not billed.

  3. 03

    Request hardware

When the app works end to end, request hardware access for it. Pittsburgh Exchange Zones are live today.

  4. 04

    Operate in Relai Access

Track activity, access, and revenue for your app and its locations from the same workspace.

Why build here

Nothing to wait for

Sandbox keys and simulated Exchange Zones arrive with the app you create, so you can build the whole drop-off and pick-up flow the same day.

You never hold a key

Relai authorizes and mints every open server-side. The SDK relays opaque bytes to the hardware, so your app carries no lock logic and no secrets.

Ready for coding agents

A published llms.txt, an OpenAPI spec, and starting prompts mean your assistant reads the contract instead of guessing at it.

Install @relai-team/access-sdk to get sign-in, Exchange Zone discovery, orders, and the unlock flow.

In production

Different workflows, one access layer.

We open doors

Build your first flow today.

Everything up to hardware is self-serve. If you would rather talk it through first, tell us what you are building.

Start in the sandbox

Arriving November 1, 2026

Be integrated before the hardware lands.

From November 1 the Exchange Zones your app opens are configured compartment by compartment, so the physical side can be shaped to your workflow. Build against the simulated network now and you are ready on day one rather than starting then.
